One of the perks of being an author of books for young readers is the opportunity to partner with local schools to promote early literacy and inspire the next generation of storytellers. Participating in Career Days is an excellent way to do this and is always a highlight of my work as a writer. During a recent visit with an enthusiastic class of third graders at Luxford Elementary School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, I had the privilege of sharing how ideas transform into published books, sparking a room full of eager questions and creative energy. This visit is part of my ongoing commitment to community outreach, where I can connect directly with young people. This reminds me of the true power of books, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that supports my work.
